Discovery Room - Bringing your Group

To schedule your group for a Discovery Room appointment, print and send in your completed Field Trip Reservation Request form (pdf file).

The Discovery Room has interactive exhibits that invite students to learn about pond, meadow, and forest habitats in a fascinating and fun way.

The Learning Tree illustrates how forest creatures use trees for hunting, nesting, and hiding. Students will learn that animals need the different layers of a tree and a forest to survive.

Learn about pond habitats by observing aquariums stocked with native animals in a wall-sized mural. Use an interactive video display to learn about microscopic aquatic life.

Examine the tunnel homes of worms and ants and reach into boxes to identify residents of Grasslands with your sense of touch. Texas Gulf Coast grasslands are illustrated in an interactive computer display. Find out about our local grasslands and where to go to see them.

More learning opportunities are available with microscopes, puzzles, and Discovery Boxes.
