June 10-14:
Puppet Safari
It’s time for an animal puppet show! Students will choose from a variety of puppet construction methods. We will create puppets of different animals inspired by cultures around the world and also use materials that can be found in our own backyard!
June 17-21:
Animal Adventurers
What is it like to be an ant? What if a squirrel could talk? We delve into the world of our local wildlife, exploring the insects, mammals, and reptiles of our own backyards. Let fur, feathers, and fins be your inspiration! We will create stories and imaginative artworks based on the ordinary (and not-so-ordinary) lives of these animals.
June 24-28
Earth Art
Our world is full of interesting colors, shapes, and textures. Look around – what do you see? Let the earth itself inspire your art by exploring plants, animals, and the earth. We will be using sticks, leaves, and other natural elements in our art this week.
July 8-12
Art of the Outdoors
Nature is so inspiring! This class focuses on the natural beauty of our environment. We will study the impressionist landscapes of Monet, as well as create art from the earth with clay.
