Introductory Tai Chi

Tai Chi Chuan is a centuries-old Chinese martial art that has evolved into a highly effective form of exercise, regardless of age or physical ability. Tai Chi involves a series of slow, meditative body movements that are excellent for repairing injuries, de-stressing, and for learning focus and insights into life’s problems.

Classes are held outside as weather conditions permit. During inclement weather, classes are held inside the Arboretum building.
Instructor: Tai Chi instructor Greg Illich will show you smooth, flowing exercises to increase your energy and vitality, remove stress, and improve your posture, balance, breathing, cardiovascular fitness, and leg strength.
Cost: $15 per session
Note: Credit or refund is only given on classes cancelled by Arboretum. Participants will not get credit or be able to “roll-over” credit for classes missed.
Weekly Sessions: Wednesdays, 5:45 – 6:45 p.m. or Saturdays, 1 – 2 p.m.
Dates: June 5, 12, 19, 26
To register, contact Carol Taylor at 713-366-0421 or ctaylor@houstonarboretum.org. You can also register on the day of a class; please come 15 minutes early to register before class begins.
