Children’s Programs

Naturalist Explorers classes introduce children ages 5 to 8 to environmental and natural history topics in a fun and enthusiastic atmosphere. All classes include a short introduction inside followed by outdoor activities.

This fall, join Arboretum naturalists for four exciting classes about winged hunters!

Date: November 2
Time: 9:00 a.m.or 1:00 p.m.
Topic: Owls
Description: Called the silent hunters, owls are uniquely adapted to hunt in the darkest hours of the night. Imagine eyeballs so large they can’t move, feathers so soft that they make no sound, and eating your prey whole. We’ll pick through owl pellets, hunt through owl eyes, and learn to stalk silently.
Fees per student: $18 M / $33 NM per class
