  • Guided Field Experience for students Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Staff naturalists and docents use the 155-acre nature sanctuary as a hands-on laboratory for students. (August - May only)
  • Discovery Room Students can learn about the 3 major habitats of the Arboretum by exploring the exhibits in the Discovery Room. Staff and docents help students explore the hands-on and interactive exhibits.
  • The Secondary School Program teaches Middle and High School students about Houston as the Bayou City. Students learn about their local watersheds with a field laboratory curriculum. Students do chemical testing of water samples and a biological survey of pond life under supervision of the naturalist staff. Staff Naturalists are facilitators in this program while students do the actual testing. (August - May only)
  • Discovery Boxes for the Classroom Interactive resources designed to enhance the environmental awareness of your students. Each box provides activities that teach ecological concepts. Set up a discovery box as an interest center in your classroom.
