Help us rebuild our forest – donate to our Annual Fund!We need your help to rebuild our forest! The devastating effects of last year’s drought caused the loss of approximately 5,000 trees, or 50% of our native canopy, damaged our trails, and allowed for an influx of invasive species, which threaten to overwhelm our native ecosystems. This disaster placed an extraordinary burden on our financial resources.
Despite the dramatic changes on our grounds in the past year, we are proud to have positively impacted the lives of over 10,000 schoolchildren from across the city. We also learned that our educational programs are improving the standardized test scores in science of many of those children. In addition, we resurfaced over 4 miles of trail, built new boardwalks, and worked with hundreds of community volunteers, from large corporate groups to individuals.
The consistent generosity of our donors enables the Arboretum to continue to serve the Houston community with nature education and to preserve our 155-acre nature sanctuary. As we enter our 46th year of operation, we ask that you consider making a donation to our Annual Fund to restore what we have lost and to help ensure that conservation, nature education, and operations will continue without interruption.
Please help us reach our Annual Fund goal of $100,000 by making a donation today–click here to contribute. Thank you for your consideration and continued support of one of Houston’s greatest natural treasures!
