May15 Master Plan Workshop
The Houston Arboretum needs your input!
Please join us on Wednesday, May 15th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm to see how the Arboretum Master Planners have taken our input from the March Vision Workshop and used it to inform a preferred alternative conceptual plan for the Arboretum and Nature Center. Weigh in on the opportunities and constraints of the preferred alternative. A light dinner will be provided!
The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center has begun the master planning process for a large-scale refurbishment of its grounds and facilities. The master plan will set forth a comprehensive vision for future development of the Arboretum and will identify both long-term strategic aims and immediate priority projects for the ecological systems that comprise the property. The master plan will enable the Arboretum to more effectively fulfill its two primary purposes – conservation and nature education – for decades to come.
The Arboretum has chosen Design Workshop, an Austin-based nationally recognized park planning, design, and landscape firm, to develop its master plan.
The purpose of the open house on May 15th, is to ensure that the master planning process is informed by input from frequent visitors, such as yourself! The Master Planners will communicate the preferred conceptual plan from the concept development phase, discuss implementation opportunities and determine next steps. Design Workshop will be facilitating the open house, and we welcome input from our Board, visitors, class participants, and neighbors!
Please let us know if you can join us for a light dinner, an information session about the master planning process, and an opportunity to provide your input about the future of the Arboretum.
